Mild Steel Fabricators

Powder Coating and Painting Services

Carbon steel or mild steel components require a protective finish such as painting, galvanising, or powder coating to prevent corrosion and enhance durability. At WEC Fabrication, our state-of-the-art powder coating plant can handle components up to 1.5m high, 3m long, and 800mm wide, featuring the latest automation technology that makes us highly competitive for large batch and volume orders. With two automatic reciprocators, a 90% powder recovery system, and a four-stage in-line pre-treatment plant, our process is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly. We also provide shot blasting and wet painting services for components up to 15m long, 6m wide, and 4m high, offering a wide range of standard RAL colours to suit every requirement.

MILD STEEL FABRICATION

S355JR

A version of S355 designed to handle normal working conditions and temperatures.

S355J2

Similar to S355JR but made to perform well in colder environments without becoming brittle.

S355MC

A high-strength mild steel that’s great for forming and bending, often used in automotive and heavy equipment parts.

Silence Control Exhaust Stack Fabrication

Sector: Energy
Project: Silence Control Exhaust Stack
Location: Aberdeen

WEC Fabrication successfully completed the manufacture of a high-specification Silence Control Exhaust Stack for a key customer in the energy sector. Designed and fabricated to meet exacting requirements, this complex structure was delivered within a strict 16-week lead time, ensuring it was installed on schedule during a planned site shutdown in Aberdeen. Constructed from a combination of 321-grade perforated stainless steel and carbon steel, the exhaust stack was built to withstand high temperatures and demanding environmental conditions. The structure comprised 10 separate fabrications, each measuring approximately 4.2 metres wide and weighing over 5 tonnes. Once fully assembled, the stack was meticulously insulated with glass fibre to enhance thermal efficiency and noise reduction.
