Invar Mould Tools

WEC Group has been manufacturing Aerospace Mould Tools in Invar, Aluminium, and Mild Steel for over 25 years. A recent project involved the highly intricate fabrication of a Belly Panel Mould Tool from Invar material. The egg box was produced using 1/4” thick Invar, while the mould tool’s top plate was formed from a 25mm thick Invar plate and CMM-checked prior to welding. It was then assembled onto the egg box by one of our coded welders (TIG rooted and MIG filled). The “A surface” was precision-machined down to 12mm thick, and the finished mould tool underwent Helium Vacuum Testing before being delivered to our customer.
