Demineralised Water Pump Skid
- Materials Used: Stainless steel 304LSS and 316LSS
- Manufacturer: WEC Group
Project Overview
What is it?
Demineralised Water Pump Skid
What does it do?
It is used to supply water to decontaminate robots. The system is designed to avoid the decontaminated water being able to work back through the system and into mains water.
Who did we make it for?
A valued customer operating a Box Encapsulation Plant within the nuclear sector
How did we make it?
We agree an inspection and test plan with the customer before manufacturing commenced. Any required procedures are submitted for acceptance and form part of an LTR along with weld schedule reviews, material maps, welder qualifications, material maps and 3.1 EU material certification. The materials are then machined/lasercut, then fabricated and welded. The welded fabrication is then dimensionally checked, non-destructively tested with radiography and dye penetrant testing and then chemically cleaned before being assembled with commercially available items in line with approved customer drawings. This is then electronically and pneumatically powered up and fed with demineralised water and runs through a factory acceptance test to ensure it is fit for purpose in line with the customer requirements.
What materials were used?
Stainless steel 304LSS and 316LSS
Are we making any more for the customer?
BEP packages are ongoing. We are currently working on package 255 which is a System 063 In-cell Handler Recovery Equipment for the WTC and BOC and will include end stops, de latch systems, cross travel crane recovery and through wall crane recovery.
How long did it take to make?
Just over a year from the date of the accepted inspection and test plan.
