At WEC Fabrication we have the skills and knowledge to suit any type of fabrication, including the manufacture of pressure vessels in a wide range of material grades including 304 / 316 stainless steel, mild steel, or Duplex to name but a few.
All work is carried out in line with PED 97/23/EC standards; BSEN5500 and ASME8. All our welding qualifications are assessed by PED assessment bodies ensuring all pressure vessels meet the necessary quality levels.
We provide 3rd party notified body inspection, qualified NDT testing and hydrostatic/air testing. Our maximum capacity is 6m diameter to a maximum of 30 tonnes in a single fabrication.
We have been involved in various pressure vessel projects over the years including nuclear flourine cells or decompression chamber for the Subsea industry.
With 3rd party inspection to PED5500 Cat 2 Vessel, it was necessary to secure seven additional welder qualifications and procedures in order to manufacture the flourine cell due to the mix of materials; boiler plate, stainless steel, monel and copper.
We have also manufactured a number of diver's decompression chambers to BSEN5500 Cat 1 Vessel standards. At one inch thick and 100% x-ray, the compression chamber is made from boiler plate and was 3rd party inspected by Lloyds.
We also manufacture various heat exchangers to ASME8 standards.
